7th Graders: Today, students observed a measuring demonstration to see proper techniques for dry and liquid ingredients. After the demonstration, a review of different kitchen equipment was done. Students were shown what a flour sifter, roasting pan, sauce pan, pot, vegetable peeler, rotary beaters, and much more look like and how they are used. Then, students got into their own food lab groups to plan for the food lab which will occur on Wednesday. Students will be making english muffin pizzas!! Yum!! Students are reminded to wear appropriate clothing for the lab (no baggy clothing, long hair tied back, and closed toe shoes). 8th Graders: Students have begun working on their pillow case aprons. Many are over half way done! They have stitched around the edges of the pillow cases, cut out their cupcake cut out to put on the front, and are working on stitching the cut out to the pillow case. The last step will be making/attaching the straps. Students who already made aprons last semester brought back their aprons and sewed a pocket (or two) on the front. Then they are making infinity scarves. Two have already finished! ---> |
